Kealba is an established residential and industrial area bounded by Green Gully Road in the north, Taylors Creek and the Maribyrnong River in the east, the Western Ring Road in the south and Sunshine Avenue in the west.
Settlement of the area dates from the late 1800s, with land used mainly for farming.

Major features of the area include Kulin Wetlands, the Sunshine Quarry, Harefield Crescent Reserve and one school.
